The gist of it all: Paige wants to be a song-writer but admittedly has no interest in actually being a performer. A professional tells her that while her music is good it’s missing something. And maybe she’s missing something, or someone, too.
Enter Liam, the guy who broke her heart, or she broke his, or they both broke each others. She hasn’t written anything, “good,” since their time together and figures getting her heart broken by him will be a good thing.
Thoughts:
There is so much yearning in this book. So much pining it is like an 80s/90s basement. It’s a lot. And it’s delicious.
Seriously.
I loved it and hated it. I wanted to lock these two in a room together or put them in one of those giant two person t-shirts and demand they use their actual words. (Thankfully this doesn’t last for long).
But when they actually started talking and not hiding from each other? Oh my god. Communication like this in a romance novel is almost unheard of.
I loved both Paige and Liam and the way they were just as stubborn as each other. There was humour in this book which thankfully kept things from getting too heavy.
They want to be in love with each other, which is amazing.
And maybe, just maybe, he falls first.
