Title: Nightmare Before Kissmas

Would I buy it? Abso-freaking-lutely.
My Thoguhts: Sara Raasch gave Kris his own book. I screamed. I shouted. I kicked my legs in glee.
This is not the same Kris you meet in Nightmare Before Kissmas, this is more mischievous version who plays pranks on people who aren’t his brother Coal. And I love him for it.
He also loves a private study space. Can’t blame him there.
This book sure has a somewhat explosive beginning and I am most definitely not going to complain about that either.
Kris is easy to identify with, unsure of what he wants to do with his life and finding himself on the path of what’s expected of him instead of leaning into his likely dream.
He is witty, and clever and much like his brother he feels so deeply, but is unable to trust readily due to the situation he finds himself in.
Lach, the Prince of St Patrick’s, is rough around the edges, and when you find out why it all makes sense. He has less than zero interest in hosting one of the son’s of Christmas, and you can’t really blame him. He is wonderfully involved in the community around him, in a way that definitely made me love him more than I already did.
These books are so easy to love, with the fantasy world of holiday courts all around. The cooperation or enmity between the differing holidays is a wonderful way to capture hearts and imaginations as they overcome their differences and begin to learn how to work together in the best possible way.
It was an easy read, full of heart and comedy, and romance, and yes, spice. I found myself unwilling to put it down, and full on regretting that I had to do so to take care of real life things, like working and eating.
This book and Nightmare Before Kissmas will feature in my yearly re-read rotation when it comes to holiday themed books, and have made Sara Raasch a must-read for me.
