Title: 10 Ways to Accidentally Fall in Love
Author: Emmy Sanders
Series: N/A
About this Book: Wingman 101: Make him fall head over heels in love.
Brad
What’s a straight guy to do when he accidentally goes on a date with his brand new gym-bro? Offer to be the best wingman ever, of course! It’s foolproof.
Joey needs a man? I’ll find him one.
He wants someone who looks, well, kind of like me? No problem!
Not into watersports? I’ve got him covered.
The issue is, going on all these dates with Joey makes me realize I want more of his time to be spent with me. I like the guy. And his smile. And the way he makes me feel like anything is possible.
Except… I can’t possibly be who Joey needs. He wants his forever person. His great big love.
And no matter how perfect the dude’s abs are or how skilled he is as a cuddle-bro, the two of us will never be more than friends. Because I’m straight.
Right?
My Thoughts:
Oh Brad. Sweet, innocent, clueless Brad.
This book will give you a headache, and maybe even a stomach ache. Here are the reasons why:
- Brad thinking he’s straight. And his innuendos that he doesn’t even think about. You will facepalm so much you might bruise.
- The innuendos are also laugh out loud funny, just trust me on that one. Genuinely hilarious.
There is so much secondhand awkwardness in this book but despite that I love it so much. There might be something wrong with me but Emmy is so good at writing clever dialogue and characters who you can care so much for.
That being said if Brad was someone I knew in real life I would be looking at them constantly and going, “Seriously?”
Joey is such a sympathetic character and not even just because he has feelings for Brad (for that the man is some kind of Saint or possibly needs to speak to a professional). He is so kind, and I just love him so much I want to cuddle him close. Poor guy, he’s so long-suffering but so good.
This book is light, and warm and funny. It could’ve turned super angsty, and I was almost worried that it would but it never did which was so amazing to see.
The cast of supporting characters will be recognizable to anyone who has read the Elite 8 series, and poor Jason who cannot understand why his bff is like this remains hilarious.
